Tuesday, 5th JulySHOP TILL YOU DROPThis tour is especially for the partners. The tour will expose you to the different worlds of shopping in Cape Town. From the glitz of a modern shopping mall, to the Flea Market on Green Market Square in the heart of the city. You will also mingle and bargain with roadside traders, visit a fabric store and enjoy tea and some eats in style. Lunch will be enjoyed at a selected venue. You will be returned to Stellenbosch, in time to refresh for the conference dinner. |

Wednesday, 6th JulyHISTORIC COUNTRY SITESAlthough South Africa is relatively young - only some 350 years have past since Jan van Riebeeck established his victualling station - most of the history is to be found in and around the western Cape. Your tour today will take you to historic towns such as Paarl and Tulbagh, to share some of the history of the western Cape with you. You will visit some museums and memorial's and also experience the warmth and friendliness of the locals. A traditional Cape cuisine lunch will be enjoyed at Paddagang (way of the frogs) in Tulbagh. You return to Stellenbosch in the late afternoon. |

Saturday, 2nd JulyGRAND TOUR OF THE CAPE PENINSULADeparting from the Conference Centre, you will make your way directly
to Hout Bay, a beautiful fishing village of the Atlantic seaboard of
the Peninsula. From the harbour, a short sea-cruise will take you out
to Duiker Island, for a close up view of the Cape fur seal breeding
colony. From Hout Bay, a scenic meander along Chapman's Peak Drive and
coastline takes you to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where you
will view Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope itself. This is the southwestern
most tip of Africa. Following a scrumptious lunch at the Two Oceans
Restaurant, the winding road along the False Bay shores will get you
to Simonstown, where at Boulders Beach you visit the African penguin
colony, before a leisurely drives takes you back to Stellenbosch. Picture
stops will be made along the way. WINELANDSNo visit to the western Cape of South Africa, especially when staying
in Stellenbosch - Heart of the Cape Winelands, will be complete without
a wine tour through the surrounding Winelands. During today's tour,
you will view a cellar, taste some of the leading products of the area,
as well as experiencing the beauty of the surrounding Boland mountains.
Lunch will be optional at one of the wine estates en route. You will
also visit the Huguenot town of Franschhoek (so-called French corner)
and get to see an old Cape Dutch-styled homestead up close. You will
return in the late afternoon.

Sunday, 3rd JulyHERMANUSDriving along the winding eastern coast of False Bay, you head south
towards Hermanus. This seaside town according to the WWF, is the best
land-based site in the world from which to view whales. And while July
may still be a bit early for large pods of whale, sitings at this time
of year is not uncommon. The day will also include a visit to the Harold
Porter Botanical Garden in Betty's Bay, a wine tasting in the Hemel-en-Aarde
Valley near Hermanus, and a special seafood lunch at Bientang's Cave.
This restaurant is situated right on the rocks at the old harbour, and
is said to be last cave inhabited by the beachcomber named Bientang.
In the late afternoon a scenic drive via Sir Lowry Pass, will bring
you back to Stellenbosch. TABLE MOUNTAIN & ROBBEN ISLANDThe programme for the day allows time to visit two of the most visited
