Introduction
Southern Africa faces many challenges in ensuring acceptable access
to healthcare, not least of which are an aging infrastructure; inappropriate
location; type of facilities or technologies; affordability; skills
availability and shortages; the AIDS epidemic and a limited budget.
New technologies can provide solutions but need to be tailored
to local circumstances.
This Conference will bring together specialists and interested people
with knowledge, expertise and interest in providing affordable and
appropriate healthcare facilities and services in Southern Africa.
As a sequel to the highly successful event at Club Mykonos in November
1999 where both the conference and exhibition were totally
sold out it is an event which should not be missed.
